This Privacy Policy explains how Shaadi Source handles personal information. It is written for both couples using the directory and suppliers listed with us. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.

1. Who we are

Shaadi Source is a trading name of SHAADI SOURCE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17312030. Registered office: 10, Pilgrim House, Bishop Street, Leicester, United Kingdom, LE1 6AF.

SHAADI SOURCE LTD is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at hello@shaadisource.co.uk.

2. Scope

This policy applies to visitors to our website, couples and account holders using our planning and enquiry features, suppliers, supplier applicants and claimants, and anyone who contacts Shaadi Source.

3. Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to run Shaadi Source, which may include:

  • account details, such as your email and sign-in credentials;
  • contact details you give us, such as your name, email and phone number where provided;
  • wedding enquiry information you submit, including the suppliers you contact, event details and your message;
  • planning inputs where you use them, such as saved suppliers, planning preferences and budget-related figures;
  • supplier applications and claims, supplier contact information, listing changes, images and other content you submit;
  • subscription and billing status information for suppliers;
  • technical and usage data, cookies and browser storage, and the consent choices you make, where these are implemented.

We do not store your card or payment details. Card and payment handling for supplier subscriptions is provided by Stripe (see section 6).

4. How we use information

  • operating accounts and the website's features;
  • managing supplier applications, claims, listings and the Supplier Portal;
  • passing wedding enquiries to eligible suppliers;
  • providing supplier subscription access and billing support;
  • responding to your questions and providing customer support;
  • security, abuse prevention, fraud prevention and troubleshooting;
  • complying with our legal, regulatory and accounting obligations;
  • optional analytics or marketing, only where you have consented and only where such technologies are actually in use.

5. Lawful bases

Depending on the activity, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • performance of a contract, or taking steps at your request before entering one;
  • our legitimate interests in operating, improving, securing and protecting the service, balanced against your rights;
  • your consent for optional cookies and marketing where consent is required;
  • compliance with our legal obligations where applicable.

6. Sharing and service providers

We share personal information with a small number of trusted providers who process it on our behalf to run the service:

  • Supabase - authentication, database and file storage for accounts, listings and submitted content.
  • Stripe - processing supplier subscription payments and providing the billing portal. Stripe handles card and payment details; we do not store them.
  • Resend - sending transactional emails, such as enquiry and account notifications.
  • Vercel - hosting and technical delivery of the website.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights, safety and security of Shaadi Source, our users and others.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we take steps so that appropriate safeguards are in place where required by applicable data protection law.

8. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operating and administering accounts, handling enquiries and disputes, meeting legal and accounting obligations, maintaining security, and enforcing our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or anonymise it. 9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to request portability where applicable, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns before you approach the ICO, so please consider contacting us first.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
